What is the Honda Sensing® Suite of Safety Technologies?

Several Honda vehicles now come standard with the Honda Sensing® suite of safety technologies, but just what does this suite include?

2019 Honda Pilot

·         Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™): The Collision Mitigation Braking System alerts the driver when it detects an impending front collision. If the driver does not react, the system fills in by applying brake pressure to avoid the collision or at least reduce the severity of the resulting damage.

·         Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow: This is the next evolution of cruise control. Instead of maintaining a set speed, this system will maintain a set (and safe) distance from the vehicle ahead of the Honda on the highway, adjusting speed as necessary.

·         Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM): The Road Departure Mitigation System can sense when a driver has veered out of his or her lane. If the driver does not respond to the warning, the system can adjust braking and steering to put the Honda back on track.

·         Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): This system keeps the driver centered in his or her lane.

·         Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR): The newest addition to the suite of safety features, TSR uses a small camera to notify the driver of the current speed limit.

Honda Sensing® technology makes today’s lineup one of the most advanced and safest on the road. To experience how these technologies can help you, stop into Apostolakis Honda for a demonstration.
