What Is Honda LaneWatch™?

On more recent Honda vehicles, this feature might now be known as Blind Spot Monitoring, but Honda LaneWatch™ can still be found on certain Honda vehicles. How Does Honda LaneWatch™ Work?

Now that you know a little bit more about what Honda LaneWatch™ is, you’re probably interested in how this system actually works. Honda LaneWatch™ uses a built-in camera that sits beneath the mirror on the passenger’s side. This camera takes images and other information and transfers that information to the cabin cockpit display screen. This way, you can see what’s actually happening outside of your vehicle in real time. If the system senses any kind of obstacle on any side of your car, it will send you an alert. 

How to Turn on Honda LaneWatch™

How do you use the Honda LaneWatch™ system on the roads of Boardman? To turn on Honda LaneWatch™, flip your right turn signal lever. Once you do this, the built-in camera will turn on and activate a video feed of your vehicle’s blind spot. You can then view what the camera sees on your cockpit display screen. It’s also lets you check the display screen before you change lanes or turn.Ideally this camera will show you if it’s safe to do so before actually doing it. 

Another way to turn on the Honda LaneWatch™ system is by pushing the button that’s on the end of the turn signal control lever. This won’t turn on the turn signal, but it will instead turn on the Honda LaneWatch™ system. To turn it off, all you have to do is push that same button again. 

How to Change the Honda LaneWatch™ Settings

The Honda LaneWatch™ system has different settings to help keep you protected on the roads of Youngstown. Changing between these settings is as simple as pushing a button:

To change the Honda LaneWatch™ settings, follow these steps:

1. Select “Settings” on the home screen option. 
2. Then, select “Camera”. 
3. Choose Honda LaneWatch™. 
4. Once you’re here, you can make any desired changes. 
5. Once you have the changes you want, push “BACK” to exit out of this option and return to the home screen.
